Course outcomes
- Upon completion of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the ethanol extraction process.
- They will have gained knowledge of the principles of ethanol extraction, its advantages and disadvantages, and how to select the appropriate equipment and solvents for the extraction process.
- Students will also learn how to prepare the Cannabis plant material, including drying and milling.
- They will gain a thorough understanding of the extraction process including agitation techniques and temperature control.
- In addition, students will learn about post-extraction processes such as winterization, filtration, decarboxylation and solvent recovery.
- They will gain knowledge on how to evaluate the quality of the extracted oil through testing and analysis.
- By the end of the course, students will have the skills and knowledge to carry out the ethanol extraction method safely and efficiently, and be able to produce high-quality Cannabis oil for a variety of applications.
